Janod is a French toy brand with over 50 years of history, combining beautiful design with developmental play value. Based in the Jura region of France, Janod makes wooden toys, games, puzzles, and musical instruments for children from birth to age 10.

What is Janod best known for?

Janod is beloved for their ride-on toys and balance bikes, magnetic drawing boards, musical instruments, and beautifully illustrated puzzles. Their Caméléon art easels and Brico'Kids tool benches are also perennial bestsellers.

Are Janod toys made from sustainable materials?

Yes — Janod use FSC-certified wood throughout their range with water-based, non-toxic paints. They have a long-standing commitment to responsible manufacturing and products built to be passed on.

What age are Janod toys suitable for?

Janod covers newborn through to age 10+. Baby toys from birth; ride-ons and balance bikes from 12 months; puzzles and games from age 2; construction and science kits from age 6+.

Are Janod musical instruments good for children?

Janod's musical instruments are some of the best children's instruments available — well-tuned, durable, and genuinely playable. Unlike cheap plastic alternatives, they're ideal for encouraging a love of music from an early age.
